Aloha, my name is Karina and I am starting this blog to update my friends and family about my life following Jesus!
This adventure with Jesus started about 7 years ago...
Like I said my name is Karina, and this is a blog about my adventures with Jesus. I am so thankful I can update you all in this way, I hope this blog will be one of encouragement and keeping in touch. I plan to share all monthly and more regular updates as well as share more about what God has been teaching me. My prayer is that you not only get up to date on me and my life but I truly hope you will be encouraged by what God is doing in the nations. Anyways a bit about me if you don’t know is that I am 25 years old, from the bay area, getting ready to move from my home in Honolulu Hawaii to Cagayan De Oro, Philippines. For the last 7 years I have been serving at YWAM Honolulu, mostly in administrative roles. Oahu has been my home for all of my young adult years and truly grown so much with God. I am thankful for this place that I’ve gotten to grow in studying His word, in prayer, worship, obedience and most of all relationship, not only by living in community with those around me but with the God. I have had the privilege of receiving training though the Bible Core Course, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Worship Seminar, and Perspectives Course. Traveling overseas has been a great joy in my life, visiting places like The Philippines for missions while being on staff at YWAM. Other hobbies I love talking to get to know new people, reading and of course traveling. God has taught me so much since following Him but I think the thing that sticks with me the most is how faithful God has been, He has shown me time and time again that He goes before us in every step of the way.
Now I would like to share a bit more about what I will be doing and my future goals. Like I said I am planning on moving to Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao, Philippines. I hope to be there by 2027 but first I will be traveling to the Mainland. I will be all around in the coming months, my plans are to spend most of the rest of 2026 in California visiting churches and family members. When I do arrive in the Philippines I will be working at a ministry called YWAM Nehemiah, this is a place of discipleship for young girls who are currently going though court hearings for physical/sexual abuse. This is a ministry I’ve been hoping to be apart of for many years since my DTS in 2019.
You can follow along as I am getting prepared to move long-term this move. I would love your prayers and support during this time. I know God has been faithful to lead me in this way as well as saving these girls. God has shown me His heart for the girls at Nehemiah, He has such love and compassion over them, I know God is preparing me to use me in this area. Thank you for your prayers of blessing and support.
